Day Walks

There are plenty of options available starting with easy short walk to more difficult full day walks.  You can also opt to do a Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk which is 54km one way and takes about 2-3 days to complete.

If you are strapped for time, we recommend Tree Top Walk which allows you to walk through a canopy of rainforest trees covered by vines, epiphytic orchids and ferns.  The walk is 180m long and is made up of 9 suspension bridges.  There are only 6 people allowed on each span. The bridges are 15m above the ground and you can climb up two observation decks, constructed in a Strangler Fig.  The highest one is about 30m above the ground.  The bridges are 15m above the ground and you can climb up two observation decks, constructed in a Strangler Fig. The highest one is about 30m above the ground.

Walking through the tropical rainforest can be very refreshing especially during hot summer days.  Many walks are hidden under the trees' canopies so you will escape harsh sun rays even during the day.  You will see Antarctic beenes which are considered an ancestral rainforest species as well as Strangler fig trees which are some of the largest rainforest trees we see today.
